WST Learning Community Events WST Lrn C students attend monthly evening programs on "Enhancing Success at Georgia Tech" developed for them and other interested undergraduate students. Topics for past discussions included the rationale for WST, considering health and other science fields from the perspective of womens studies, the programs and leadership opportunities offered by the Womens Resource Center, measuring individual success, and monitoring female self-esteem in a mostly male environment. Programs have included sessions on a scientists formula for balancing personal and professional life, a history of women and the sea, career prospects and interdisciplinary interests, and international activist organizations for women. WST Lrn C students also sign up for informal lunch discussions with faculty, including the Dean of Ivan Allen College, the Director of Women in Engineering, the Dean of Students, the Director of the Womens Resource Center, and faculty in several academic units.
