The Women, Science,
and Technology Learning Community (WST Lrn C) is an innovative
joint venture of the Center for the Study of Women, Science, and
Technology (WST Center) and the
Georgia Tech Department of Housing. The WST Learning Community
enhances the academic and professional development of GT undergraduates
by creating networks for students and for student and faculty
interaction.
Modelled on residence
hall programs for women in science and engineering, the WST Lrn
C offers programs addressing personal and professional issues
for women students entering scientific and technological fields.
Female undergraduates from any major interested in the programs
of the WST Center are eligible to apply in spring for housing
in the WST Lrn C.
WST residence halls are located at the Stein House and the Goldin House on the 4th street & Techwood, and a few apartments on the Center Street. The 4th St. residents share a bathroom with one roommate. Each Center St. apartment houses four students assigned single rooms who share two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room.
To apply for the WST Learning Community residence option for Fall 2008-Spring 2009, please complete:
2) the Housing form, specifying that you want to live at the WST Housing (4th street Apts or Center Street), also list your second option, in case you won't be accepted. Housing requires a $600 deposit for all housing applications. (Note: <in the note section students can say they have applied for WST or I-house. However, online all of Fourth Street (Stein, Goldin, FSA E, Hayes) is not available to choose. The students need to apply online as though they are making a secondary choice.>)
Applicants should attend one of the "Open Houses for Prospective Students" held on Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 27 at 5:30 pm in 4th St. Apartments, Stein House.
Please refer to the Housing website for all application deadlines (returning students housing application deadline is Feb 11 - March 3).
